Is really pain linked to summer?

And here I am writing from Crete.
You may think I am a pessimistic person from this post but I really can’t deny it.
I had been dreaming about this week for months and now that this time has come, I can’t say I’m thrilled. I know that plans never happen and especially for me! I must be something like a cursed person that fails whenever plans something good and craves for it.

It’s not actually a big deal; I just had the bad luck not to update my sunscreen..And now here it is! A pretty bad sunburn all over my face and chest.

Take it as an advice and always use sunscreen!

Let’s see the first sunscreen I recommend which is the Up & Up Sport Sunscreen Continuous Spray SPF 30 that is really sweatproof and waterproof and really easy to apply. As about the Vichy Capital Soleil SPF50+ Hydra-Milk Body that is the best for fair and very sensitive skin, I can say that really protects my body and prevents sun-spots and premature skin ageing.

Nivea Sun Sunscreen Lotion is quite good too. It may be a little bit thick but it is absorbed quickly and lasts for ever!  Coppertone Sport Sunscreen Lotion, SPF 30 is a waterproof sunscreen with no scent that stays on for a bit. It’s cheaper than many others that promise the same things but I would not really buy it again. It may be good sometimes, but doesn’t work so good in a pretty hot and humid environment. The last one is PIZ BUIN In Sun Moisturizing Sun Lotion SPF30. Its quickly-absorbed formula with Vitamin E, protect the skin form peeling while moisturizing it. Actually is really good as it leaves the pores able to breath and smells summer!

*Take care of yourself and learn from your mistakes.
Your life would be nothing without bad and good experiences that will help     you move on, to the next level.
It’s not about the damn sunburn. It’s about my life.

Take care!

It's all about a great skin

The simplest key for a beautiful and spotless skin is of course using the proper cleanser, always having in mind that bar soaps dry the skin out. The best solution for your oily or combination skin is using a gel or a clear cleanser twice a day. As for the dry or sensitive skin a more creamy cleanser will do for you once a day (i'd recommend at night).

In this post I am going to introduce to you 5 brilliant cleansing products that I occasionally use. (I don't like sticking with only one product, so each six-seven months I try to find another one, maybe more efficient and appropriate for my skin at that point).

The first product I’ve chosen is the La Roche-Posay, Effaclar , Purifying Foaming Gel for Oily and Sensitive Skin. I love the fact that it is a light gel that purifies the skin gently leaving my face clear and really fresh. Something similar does the Clarins, Gentle Foaming Cleanser for Normal/Combination Skin. It also protects the skin from the drying effects of hard water as it promises, but it doesn’t work well with waterproof make-up.

Very efficient is the Lancome, Creme Douceur, Cream-To-Oil Massage Cleanser for All Skin Types that refines my skin’s texture while removing my make-up. I adore its soft and smooth texture and its wonderful fragrance. I just read that it contains antioxidant White Lotus and soothing Rose de France, and don’t be surprised when its creamy texture transforms into an oil. Another product that gives immediate results is the Derma Genesis Cleansing Exfoliating Wash by L’oreal that cleanses, illuminates and renews the cells on the surface of your skin. It’s a pretty nice product especially if you like exfoliators.

And finally, my favorite product is the Rapid Clear Oil-Control Foaming Cleanser by Neutrogena. It works perfectly on oily skin, and removes all the oil and dirt without overdrying the skin. It is a really necessary creamy and smooth product that gives a matte finish and doesn’t clog the pores of your face. It’s the number one cleanser that I recommend which refreshes your skin and doesn’t irritate it at all!

*A cleanser is the basic product for a clean skin, but don’t forget to use a toner after it (I always use a cleanser and a toner from the same brand and range, for a better and more complete cleaning.) Ooh..and never forget to exfoliate your skin twice a week. That’s all guys.

Have a great day!!

It's a denim theme

We all know that denim nowadays is a widely-talked trend that appears in every fashion scene. It's an extremely comfortable, easy, safe and budget-friendly trend that flatters every girl (and size).

In this post you'll see two different denim styles..and in the next one you will remember another old fashion that is back again. Of course I am talking about double denim but for now let's talk about the first one.

Keep in mind that the most important rule is to keep it simple! And of course be yourself!

Take me down to the paradize city

As you may already know, next week I'm visiting Crete. Crete is the largest of the Greek islands and the fifth largest in the Mediterranean Sea, where modern, Venetian, Turkish and traditional architecture are blended together creating the perfect harmony of a unique and attractive picture. So I'll give you a taste of what I'm going to see.

I am totally in love with Crete and I'm sure that if you have the chance to travel there you will love it too.
The life of the island, its kind and  willing to help residents, the beautiful beaches with the crystal waters create a paradize. Ooh..how could I forget the food..and the traditional stone paths..and the beach bars..and..and and. If heaven is Crete, who could tell me that I would't wait to die!

The living is easy

After a loooong day at the beach I returned home cursing the bloody sea and its rocks that can't be seen!
The 4th toe of my left foot had the bad luck to ''meet'' one of those rocks..and...now it has become...a huge red toe that makes my walking funny if not painful!

Anyway..so while walking on the beach trying unsuccessfully to tan easily, I was thinking about the next weekend when I'm finally flying to Crete for a dreamy trip and the last things I need (okay..want) to buy to have there. When I reached a conclusion I realized that I ''needed'' at least 30 or more things I had not ever thought about in the past.

Apparently I didn't need those things.
I returned home.
I made a list..
One with 8 things I had to have with me there..
and another one with 8 things I had to leave here in Thessaloniki.
So here are the two lists:

WHAT TO TAKE:
  • your sweetest smile
  • your boyfriend, dog or best friend
  • your iPod
  • the 212 Sexy by Carolina Herrera (a really sensual fragrance with tones of bergamot, tangerine and musk that will seduce anyone)
  • the Estee Lauder body tint and body oil by Tom Ford that give a really summer finish to your skin while taking care of it.
  • your K. Jacques flat sandals
  • the ''surf spray'' by Bumble & Bumble that promises to make your hair totally beautiful and summerish
  • your endless imagination that had been hiding during the winter

WHAT TO LEAVE BEHIND:

  • the stress and your bad mood
  • your work
  • your cell phone
  • the heavy parfumes
  • your whims
  • all the hair styling tools
  • your high-heels
  • your black clothes (we can make and exception for only one)

Top 10 make-up products for the summer

We all know that during vacation we don't have the opportunity to take with us our whooole beauty kit. So what if we had to pick only 10 of them? After days and nights I have been thinking about that dilemma I have finally reached a decision.

The first product I would take is the MAC Prep + Prime Face Protect SPF 50. It's a great face primer specially formulated with oil-absorbing powder that also prevents oil breakthrough and disappears into the skin. It provides sun protection and at the same time is suitable for all skin types! I just can't live without it!

The second one would be the Yves Saint Laurent Touche Eclat that I use as a highlighter and as a concealer- eye brightener too. The Touche Eclat is a great bet for brightening an otherwise ashen face and of course moisturizing, combining its incredibly creamy and weightless texture.

A blush, and especially the MAC powder blush is always essential. The colour I use is the peachtwist that looks really natural and shows in just one swipe. My cheeks look flushed with a nice coral-peachy colour that stays on really well. About the Avene Thermal Spring Water that you see in the picture above...I am officially addicted! I use it all the time as it can actually help for everything! From protecting, soothing and purifying red, irritated skin, to setting make-up, easing the pain of sunburns and moisturizing my face, hands and body! I totally recommend it!

Then comes the MAC Quite Cute Cutie Eye Shadow Palette. These pastel shades have a mixture of luster and frost finishes that look good on everyone! Of course mascara is always needed so recently I have been using the Maybelline New York Pulse Perfection Vibrating Mascara. With only one coat I get the volume, the length and definition that I want! It is waterproof and extremely long lasting (didn’t even smudge after sleep –I know…it just happened once) but strangely easy to remove. You may find the vibration and the buzzing part a bit awkward at first, but then you’ll get used to it!

A really nice eyebrow pencil I just bought was the Max Factor Eyebrow Pencil. To tell you the truth I didn’t expect to like it –I rarely like eyebrow pencils, but this one is good. Its texture is not-too-firm-but-not-too-soft and it manages to define the brows naturally without scratching them at all! Despite the fact that I’m not really into eyebrow pencils, this one manages to accentuate my eyes really well.

Close to the end of the 10 top make-up essentials for the summer is the L’oreal Infallible Never Fail Plumping Lipcolour. I have it in maaaany colours but I find the most ''appropriate'' for the summer the apricot one. It lasts for 16 hours beautifully, without flaking off. Okay..I admit it…the part that at first made me buy it was the mirrored packaging that I found really helpful, but now I know that it does exactly what its name promises. It never fails! Ooh..I can also add that it is a good moisturizer too, that includes vitamin E that protects and conditions the lips.

I left my two favorite products for the very end! The first one is the L'oreal Pencil Perfect Carbon Black Eyeliner. It’s a really easy to use creamy pencil that glides on smoothly. I really like it cause it lasts long and doesn’t smudge at all. The Best part is that its sooooo easy to remove, with the help of course of the Neutrogena Make-up Remover Cleansing Towelettes that dissolve the oil, the dirt and the make-up (waterproof mascara too) really gently and effectively. The towlettes don’t dry my skin and leave a nice feel of refreshment. Having used other make-up removing products in the past which leave my skin sticky and oily, I find these exactly what myself and my skin need.

*I really hope I helped! Having these products with you, I’m pretty sure that your summer vacations will be as good as mine! Bon voyage!

Royalty in rock

As the new day began I started thinking about an outfit that I could wear all over the day..so I ended up figuring out that black is a classic and safe solution. Matched with a clutch and a sparkly crepe top for the evening and a plain white sleeveless top for work in the morning is actually a really nice and classy choice.
So..hope you like it!

My model wears the evening outfit..but with some quick changes it turns into a morning one.

  • Crepe Top- Vince
  • Blazer- Zara
  • Clutch- Zara
  • White Sleeveless Top- Topshop (but actually everywhere)
  • Cropped Pants- Topshop
  • Shoes- Zara
